Meetings for April, July and October are held at a Members home with the December meeting held before the Christmas Function.Visitors are most welcome.

FORMAT

Meetings are generally informal and most have a guest speaker presenting various interesting topics. Members nights are also arranged when members present talks on their experiences in aviculture.

Members are asked to bring along a plate of supper to pool at the end of the evening, this is a good time to have a cuppa and a chat.

Raffles are held every month with members being on a yearly roster bringing along a minimum of 2 gift to be placed on the raffle table..

AIMS

To encourage the good breeding of our captive birds. Many members with years of breeding experience are only too happy to share their knowledge and experiences with new and old members.

MEMBERSHIP

Memberships are currently available for Single and Family groups with a category for juniors. All memberships are due the 1st week of March. Pro rata memberships are available to new members from September.

AFFILIATION

The club is currently affiliated with United Bird Society of SA and members are welcome to join this group also. If your interest is in birds we invite you to join our progressive and social club.

BENEFITS

The club has a seed order arrangement with a major seed distributor and sells to members at a very competitive price which is well below retail outlets. This is available every 3 months.

Each year the club conducts an inter club visit.

We host visits from other clubs with aviary visits within a club, thus promoting fellowship and friendship with these clubs. Many friendships have been struck up following an inter club visit, both within and away.

Knowledge can be shared among members thus ensuring many questions are answered with regard to our hobby.

Each year a Christmas function is held and partly funded by the club providing fun and relaxation for its members.

Two social day outings are planned each year where we visit member's aviaries to the south or north of Adelaide.

The club prints an exchange list – listing birds that members have for sale or are seeking. This list is sent to other bird clubs in the state and also to members through our newsletter, which is printed on a quarterly basis.

This list can also be accessed through our web site at www.adelaidebirdclub.com
